Spring Peer Support Class 2016

These fabulous people spent over 80 hours in the classroom learning new skills and sharing their wisdom and experiences with one another. Now they will go to work in the behavioral health field (or resume their jobs as peer coaches) supporting individuals in need. Peer support is a rapidly growing field – other titles for this role include; peer specialist, recovery coach, community healthcare worker.

Here’s a great site that explains the science behind peer support work: http://peersforprogress.org/learn-about-peer-support/science-behind-peer-support/

We’re honored to be part of the peer support community in Colorado!

Congratulations Peer Support Graduates!

Amanda Kearney-Smith

I founded the Network as the Executive Director in 2011 and, before that, I was a program director at Mental Health Colorado. My educational background is in Developmental Psychology, but living with bipolar disorder has drawn me to this work. I'm most passionate about protecting the civil rights and dignity of others. In my free time, I love reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with my family here and in Illinois.
